ACA Level 2 Registered Counsellor

Specialises in Men’s Counselling and Anxiety & Stress Support
Andrew is passionate about supporting people as they navigate life’s challenges, better understand themselves and develop practical ways to improve their emotional wellbeing. With a warm, down-to-earth and non-judgemental approach, he creates a supportive environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences, exploring their thoughts and working towards meaningful change.
After spending many years working in marketing, Andrew decided to pursue a career that aligned more closely with his passion for helping others. This led him to retrain as a counsellor, bringing with him valuable life experience and an understanding of workplace pressures, personal expectations and the challenges that can come with change.
Andrew has a particular interest in men’s mental health, anxiety and stress, recognising that many people can find it difficult to express their emotions, ask for support or make sense of what they’re experiencing. He supports men, adults and young people aged 12 and over who may be navigating low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, self-confidence, personal challenges or significant life transitions.
Using a person-centred approach, Andrew believes counselling should be collaborative, practical and tailored to each individual. He values taking the time to understand each person’s experiences, recognising their strengths and helping them develop greater self-awareness, healthier coping strategies and confidence in managing life’s challenges.
For Andrew, counselling is about providing people with the space to reflect, gain perspective and recognise that they don’t need to have all the answers straight away. He believes that even small steps towards understanding ourselves can lead to meaningful and lasting change.
Based in Frankston on the Mornington Peninsula, Andrew offers in-person counselling appointments, as well as online and telephone counselling across Australia.
Outside of Work
Outside of his counselling work, Andrew enjoys spending quality time with his family and making the most of opportunities to relax, reconnect and enjoy life’s simpler moments. Family is an important part of his life, and he values the time they spend together.
Andrew also has a passion for card collecting, an interest he rediscovered after coming across his childhood collection. What started as a trip down memory lane quickly reignited his enthusiasm, and he has enjoyed getting back into a hobby that brings him a sense of nostalgia and enjoyment.
One of Andrew’s favourite films is Never Back Down, a story about overcoming challenges, developing resilience and finding the determination to keep moving forward. Its themes of personal growth and perseverance are particularly meaningful to him.
A favourite quote of Andrew’s is “You don’t have to have everything figured out to take the next step.” It’s a sentiment that reflects his appreciation for personal growth, recognising that life doesn’t always come with clear answers and that progress often begins with simply taking that first step.
Whether he’s spending time with family, rediscovering his childhood interests or enjoying a good film, Andrew values maintaining balance, appreciating life’s experiences and finding enjoyment in the things that matter most.

“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain.”
