Specialises in Men’s Counselling and Anxiety & Stress Support
Andrew Heggie is an ACA Level 2 Registered Counsellor who provides warm, practical and collaborative counselling in Frankston and online across Australia. He supports men, adults and young people aged 12 and over who may be experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties or significant life changes.
Andrew’s path into counselling developed through a growing interest in how people respond to pressure, change and the periods of life when things no longer feel as straightforward as they once did. After working in marketing for many years, he wanted his work to have a more meaningful and people-focused direction. This led him to retrain as a counsellor and begin supporting clients across community and private practice settings.
His professional background contributes to a grounded understanding of workplace pressure, personal expectations, changing responsibilities and the challenges people can face when they feel stuck or uncertain about what comes next.
Andrew’s counselling style is person-centred, respectful and down-to-earth. He believes clients bring valuable knowledge and understanding of their own lives, while his role is to listen carefully, offer perspective and help them explore practical ways forward.
Rather than applying the same approach to every person, Andrew works collaboratively and adapts counselling to each client’s needs, goals and circumstances. Sessions provide space to explore thoughts and emotions without feeling judged, rushed or told what to do.
Andrew can support clients with anxiety, stress, men’s mental health, low mood, grief, self-awareness, personal development and major life transitions. His goal is to help each person strengthen their understanding of themselves, develop useful strategies and move towards a life that feels more meaningful, balanced and manageable.
Andrew offers in-person counselling appointments in Frankston, as well as online and phone counselling for clients across Australia.

“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain.”
