Mental Health First Aid
Frankston & Australia-WideLearn how to support someone when it matters most
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training equips everyday people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis until professional help is received or the situation stabilises.
At Watkins Therapy Group, our MHFA training is delivered by an accredited instructor and designed for workplaces, community groups and individuals who want to build practical, real-world mental health support skills.
Participants who complete the course can become accredited MHFAiders and learn how to recognise warning signs, start supportive conversations and respond appropriately when someone needs help.
Why choose MHFA training?
Mental health concerns often appear quietly before they become serious. MHFA training helps people feel confident stepping in early, having supportive conversations and guiding someone towards professional care.
This course helps participants to:
-
Improve knowledge of common mental health conditions and treatments
-
Build confidence in supporting others
-
Recognise early warning signs
-
Respond effectively during mental health crises
-
Reduce stigma and encourage open conversations
Evaluations consistently show participants increase both their understanding and confidence after attending MHFA training.
“When people know what to look for and what to say, silence is replaced with support. That is the power of Mental Health First Aid.” – Benjamin Watkins
