“The human soul just wants to be heard”

Robin brings over 20 years of dedicated experience in counselling and mental health support to her role at Watkins Therapy Group. As an ACA-registered counsellor, she has had the privilege of working with young people, families, and individuals across diverse settings – including schools, community organisations, and health services.

With a deeply holistic and client-centred approach, Robin believes that effective counselling meets people exactly where they are. She integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities to suit the unique needs of each client, drawing from her extensive training in:

  • Somatic therapies

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Creative and expressive therapies

  • General counselling and talk-based techniques

This blend of approaches allows Robin to support clients on a deeper level – working not just with thoughts, but also with the body, emotions, and inner systems that shape how we experience the world.

Robin holds a particular passion for supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, as well as those navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, identity shifts, and general well-being challenges. Her practice is underpinned by the belief that healing happens in safe, connected spaces – and she’s committed to providing exactly that.

Warm, genuine, and deeply present, Robin is known for making clients feel truly heard. She lives by the philosophy:

“The human soul just wants to be heard.”

Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time or returning after a break, Robin offers a compassionate and empowering space to reconnect, process, and grow.

Favourite counselling modality?:

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of therapy that helps people understand and heal the different “parts” or voices inside them — like the inner critic, the anxious part, the people-pleaser, or the protector. IFS believes we all have these parts, and they each play a role in helping us cope, even if it doesn’t always feel helpful. The goal of IFS is to help these parts work together in a healthier way, guided by your calm and compassionate core self. It’s a gentle, empowering approach that helps you feel more balanced, self-aware, and in control.

“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain.”
